Your Liaison
The BCCUSA Legislative Liaison is Lisa R. Davis, Attorney and Registered Parliamentarian. She reports AKC’s legislative efforts to the BCCUSA Board and its Members via the BCCUSA Meeting Minutes and by posting key legislative information on the BCCUSA website. Ms. Davis also reports any urgent legislative matters to the BCCUSA Board and submits proposals for the approval of grants, funding, and other donations, in support the very important work of the AKC GR.
The BCCUSA is dedicated to: preserving the rights of all dog owners, promoting responsible dog ownership, and ensuring that reasonable and responsible laws governing dog ownership and breeding are protected. The BCCUSA Legislative Liaison tracks the AKC Government Relations Department (AKC GR), which leads the AKC’s legislative efforts to protect rights of all dog owners. The AKC GR identifies its goals as “working to protect the rights of all dog owners and promote responsible dog ownership” (AKC Mission Statement.) AKC GR further identifies its mission as educating and informing responsible dog owners and breeders about the issues that impact them as well as monitoring and positively impacting legislation that affect them.
